एक शहर ऐसा भी

      यह कविता, यूक्रेन के एक शहर चरनोविल से संबधित है जहां पर 26 अप्रेल 1986 को एक बहुत ही दुखदायी नाभकिय हादसा हुआ था जिसमें काफी जानें गई थी और क्षेत्र में रेडियोऐक्टिव तत्वों की मात्रा अत्याधिक होने के कारण उस शहर को पूरी तरह खाली करवाना पड़ा था। इस कविता का शिर्क्षक है “एक शहर ऐसा भी” उम्मिद है की कविता के माध्यम से वहां क्या घटित हुआ था का भाव आप तक पहंच पाएगा।

एक शहर ऐसा भी

      जींदगी की भागदौड़ में साहिब हर कोई व्यस्त है-2

      किसी को उसकी मजबुरीयां दौड़ा रही है-2

      तो किसी को जीवन में और उंचा उठने की चाहत दौड़ा रही है-2

      जींदगी की इसी दौड़ में एक शहर ऐसा भी-2

जिसने अपना अस्तित्व ही खो दिया-2

(चरनोविल और आसपास का क्षेत्र इस नाभकिय हादसे से पहले बहुत ही विकसित हुआ करता था। बर्ष उन्नीस सौ उन्यासी से ही क्षेत्र में हर वो सुविधा माजुद थी जो की बहुत से विकासशील या अविकसित देशों के पास वर्तमान समय में भी उपल्ब्ध नहीं है, परन्तु इस हादसे ने सब कुछ बर्बाद कर दिया था)

                      होती थी साहिब जिन गलियों मे चहल-पहल कभी-2

                              दिखते है वंहा अव सिर्फ उजडें हुए

                              घरों,टुटी हुई दिवारों के खंड़हर ही-2

                             वो बाल-विहार मे पड़े टुटे खिलौने-2,
                     स्कूल के खाली कमरे, अस्पताल के खाली विस्तरे-2

                              सब का सब विरान हो गया

                              ये देख कर साहिब मेरा मन

                              विचलित परेशान हो गया-2।

(नाभकिय संयत्रों के आसपास का लगभग तीस किलोमीटर तक का क्षेत्र अभी भी रेडियोएक्टिव तत्वों से ग्रसीत है तथा यहां की सरकार ने उस क्षेत्र को वहिष्कृत श्रेणी में रखा है। लगभग 108 गांव को ईस हादसे के बाद खाली करवाना पड़ा था। साथ ही में क्षेत्र के स्कूल एवं अस्पतालों को भी खाली करवाना पड़ा था)

                             

                             

उन मासूम बच्चों का क्या कसूर-2

जिनसे उनका बच्चपन छिन गया-2

जिनसे उनके दोस्त, दोस्ती और याराना छूट गया-2

वो झुले, वो गलियां, वो गलियारे जहां होते थे

लुका-छुप्पी के खेल और मौज मस्ती के नजारे-2

सब छिन गया।

(चरनोविल के पास प्रपीयात क्षेत्र में एक बहुत बड़ा मनोरंजन उद्यान बन रहा था जिसको बच्चों एवं आम लोगों के लिए एक मई उन्नीस सौ छयासी में मई दिवस के उपल्क्षय मे खुलना था। उस उद्द्यान को लेकर बच्चो के मन में तरह-2 के सपने थे। परन्तु इस चरनोविल हादसे के कारण वो उद्द्यान कभी भी नही खुल पाया।  बच्चों से मानो उनका सब कुछ ही छिन गया था।)

                      हम तो समझे थे साहिब थोड़ी सी आग लगी है

                      जल्दी ही बुझ जाएगी-2 
                      हमें नहीं था मालूम साहिब ये आग हमारी

                      खुशियों में ही लग जाएगी-2

(जब ये नाभकिय हादसा हुआ था उस समय लोग अपने घरों से बाहर निकल कर आग के धुयें को देख रहे थे। वो सोच रहे थे कहीं आग लगी है जल्दी ही बूझ जाएगी और सुबह जिन्दगी समान्य हो जाएगी। मगर इस अनर्थ का उनको जरा भी अंदेशा नहीं था)

उनको क्या मालूम था साहिब जो दौड़े थे

अपना कर्तव्य निभा उस आग को बुझाने को-2

वह आग भी लगी थी उनकी जींदगी को जलाने को-2

(इस हादसे के कारण लगी हुई आग को बूझाने के लिए जो दमकल केन्द्र के कर्मचारी गये थे उनमें से बहुत से एक सप्ताह के भीतर ही शरीर में रेड़िएशन की मात्रा अधिक चली जाने के कारण मर गये थे। श्री तेलियात निकोव जो दमकल दल का नेतृत्व कर रहा था वह कुछ समय के वाद कर्क रोग से ग्रसित हो गया तथा तिरपन बर्ष की आयू में उसकी मृत्यु हो गयी थी)

ऐसा क्यूं हुआ, कौन इसका जिम्मेदार है-2

                              क्या वो लोग जो वहां काम कर रहे थे-2

                    या वह सरकार जो दुनिया मे और अधिक शक्तिशाली

                              बनने की दौड मे लगी हुई थी-2

                              आखिर कौन-2 इसका जिम्मेदार है-2

(जब जीवन में बहुत कुछ जल्दी-2 प्राप्त करने की हौड़ लग जाती है, तो ईंसान कभी-2 क्या अच्छा है क्या बुरा है सब भूल जाता है। हो सकता है ये नाभकिय हादसा भी उसी जल्दबाजी का नतीजा था। उस समय सोवियत संघ की सरकार चरनोविल में 10 नाभिकीय उर्जा संयत्र बना रही थी जिसमें से 5 का काम लगभग पूरा हो चुका था परन्तु इस हादसे ने सब कुछ बर्बाद कर दिया था)

      सब कुछ बर्बाद हो गया-2

      न बचा कुछ छुपाने को-2

      वो पेड़ों की छाया-वह नदी का पानी-2

      सब कुछ जहर हो गया-2

      वो हंसता खेलता शहर सुनसान और विरान हो गया-2

(इस हादसे के बाद बहिष्कृत क्षेत्र में माजूद पेड़ पौधे और नदियां सब रेडियोएक्टिव के प्रभाव मे आ गए, कहा जाता है की प्रीपयात नदी का पानी बहाव के काऱण अभी भी शुद्ध है परन्तु उसकी सतह रेडियोएक्टिव प्रभाव से ग्रसित है। )

                             वो बजुर्ग जो बैठे थे अपने बजुर्ग साथियों के

                               साथ जीवन के अंतिम लम्हे बिताने को-2

                               नही तैयार थे अपने जीवन के अंतिम

                                पड़ाव मे कंहि दूर जाने को-2

                                घर से तो दूर हो गये थे वो-2

                          अपने मन और आत्मा से दूर नही हो पाये थे-2

                         लौट आए है वो वापिस अपने उन्ही घरों में

                        जिन्दगी की अंतिम सांस तक जीवन विताने को-2

(जब शहर को खाली करवाया जा रहा था तो बहुत से बजुर्गों ने वहां से जाने से इन्कार कर दिया था, उनका कहना था कि अब वो उम्र के अंतिम पड़ाव में है और जैसे भी हो वहीं पर अपना जीवन विताना चाहते है। परन्तु जबरन उनको वहां से खाली करवाया गया था। अब काफी बर्षों बाद उनमें से कुछ बजुर्ग वापिस अपने घरों मे लौट आए हैं तथा जीवन की अंतिम सांस तक वंही जीवन विताना चाहते है)

Finding peace in the grief stricken world

My reflection is exhorting me to osculate the welkin

Intent is to vanquish the macrocosm

Tribulations of the Universe are tantalizing me badly

Myself ordained to struggle for underlying tranquility in the Universe,

None of us is striving for peace

Vague accomplishments are narrowing the universe

Sinewy is engulfing the emaciated

Winds and waves of cold war is vitiating the free air

Tranquility seems far reaching

Who is to blame

Universe seems to be a game

Humankind is playing it

and cryptically annulling peace 

Forgotten is Humanity

Supreme(d) is the vanity

The vanity which yields hate

the vanity which creates fear

devastates the  lives and establishments and wills of the human kind,

Gears of peace are fragile

no one is trying for cementing them

threads of trust are rusting

show off is taking mileage

peace is blurred  and crushed for a futile humor
